Canvas, 2025 This installation separates the canvas from its traditional function, centering on its own materiality. The surface, considered an invisible substructure carrying the paint, is dissolved through an intervention that penetrates its texture. By separating the vertical and horizontal threads individually, the canvas ceases to be a two-dimensional plane; it transforms into a linear organism positioned in space. This action suspends the expectation of producing representation and raises an analytical question about the ontology of painting: Where is the painting located if there is no image? The artist's intervention makes visible not what is visible on the surface, but the structure that makes the surface possible. "Canvas" meets the viewer as an inquiry that questions the fixed definitions of the painting object; directing the gaze not to the image, but to the conditions of the image.
