I May Have Forgotten, 2021 This project consists of a series of 3D models created using photographs taken by different individuals at different time periods. Although similar to photogrammetry techniques, the images used in this project consist of photographs with temporal and personal diversity; this gives the project a more random and fragmented structure. In the 3D models created based on images taken of the same place at different periods, various distortions and deficiencies occurred due to the differences between time, people and technology. These distortions reveal the losses experienced in the evolution and information transfer process of technology, like a digital memory. Within the scope of the project, structures and spaces located at different points in Istanbul were examined. Although these spaces have changed over time, lost or transformed some of their elements, the project aims to establish a visual bridge between the past and the present by preserving the traces that reflect their essence. With the opportunities offered by digital systems, these structures have been transformed into digital forms that reflect and preserve the transformation they have undergone throughout history, independent of their physical existence. In this context, the project attempts to create a kind of temporal archive through the documentation opportunities offered by the digital and the continuity of visual memory. Data pieces from different periods come together to offer an opportunity to think not only about individual and spatial memory, but also about the evolution of technology and the transfer of cultural heritage to the future. Thus, the project aims to establish a connection between the past and the present as a platform where traces of Istanbul's past are reconstructed and reinterpreted with today's technology. In this way, the project aims to reveal the relationship between digital memory, temporal losses and cultural heritage in more detail.
